Three Teens Arrested, 4th Sought In Monon Trail Beating

INDIANAPOLIS -- Police on Monday said they arrested three teenagers and were looking for one more in connection with the Oct. 6 beating of a bicyclist on the Monon Trail.

Authorities said they believe Montaz Howard Lewis, 16, and the two other arrestees attacked 54-year-old Darrell Arthur and stole the bicycle he was riding.

Lewis will be charged as an adult, and the other two arrestees are being charged as juveniles, authorities said. Each faces felony counts of robbery and aggravated battery, 6News' Derrik Thomas reported.

Police said tips led them to arrest the three. Authorities said they were looking for a fourth suspect -- a teen who goes by the nickname "Bootsy" and lives near 30th Street and Guilford Avenue.

Indianapolis police Detective James Quigley said Arthur was riding his bike on the trail when he slowed down for four teens who were standing in his way. One of the teens struck Arthur in the head with a 2-by-4, Quigley said.

"He fell to the ground, at which time he was and was punched and kicked numerous times," Quigley said. "His bicycle was taken, and they basically went through his pockets and took anything of value."

Arthur has been recovering from the attack at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. He said he couldn't remember what happened.

During an interview at the hospital, he said he got the bike from a Salvation Army thrift store.

"The bike was only worth $10. If they had just wanted a bike, they could have just asked for the bike," Arthur said.

BBC admits bias

BBC executives have been forced to admit what critics have known for years - that the corporation is institutionally biased.

The revelation came after details of an 'impartiality' summit called by its chairman, Michael Grade, were leaked.

Senior figures admitted that the BBC is guilty of promoting Left-wing views and an anti-Christian sentiment.

They also said that as an organisation it was disproportionately over-represented by gays and ethnic minorities.

It was also suggested that the Beeb is guilty of political correctness, the overt promotion of multiculturalism and of being anti-American and against the countryside.

During the meeting, hosted by Sue Lawley, executives admitted they would happily broadcast the image of a Bible being thrown away - but would not do the same for the Koran.
